Lega del Filo d’Oro
based in Osimo in Central Italy, has dedicated over 50 years to improving the lives of those who do not see and do not hear. This mission is met every day with commitment and dedication to the people we work with and their families: deafblind individuals, including those who also have other forms of severe physical and learning disabilities.
Agostino spent his first eight months of life in the hospital because he had serious health problems.
"Help" is the word that I associate to the Lega del Filo d'Oro. I had just lost my father and found that in addition to Usher syndrome (which involves auditory and visual problems), I was also suffering from multiple sclerosis.
Happiness? Happiness is not the finish line, but the combination of many small moments and there are complicated moments, but also fantastic.
